English Language Arts Strategies |
Outcome: Ensure students are making sufficient progress to be on grade level in English Language Arts. |
Strategy 1: Provide daily, systematic, explicit instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology in the core language arts block |
Strategy 2: Orient instruction and support students to focus on using sound-spelling patterns to decode |
Strategy 3: Provide Tier 3 instruction as an intensive intervention for students who need instruction beyond Tier 1 and Tier 2. |
Mathematics Strategies |
Outcome: Ensure students are making sufficient progress to be on grade level in Mathematics. |
Strategy 1: Shift from teaching students to replicate procedures to helping students select efficient strategies |
Strategy 2: Teachers will provide time for students to engage with math problems and develop flexibility by encouraging student selection and use of efficient strategies. |
Strategy 3: Provide Tier 3 instruction as an intensive intervention for students who need instruction beyond Tier 1 and Tier 2. |
Wellness Strategies |
Outcome: Ensure students feel safe, included, and supported in the school environment. |
Strategy 1: Set aside protected time to engage in required Tier 1 practices schoolwide using Casel Signature 3 Practices. |
Strategy 2: Provide opportunities for families to connect with other families in the community. |
Portrait of a Graduate (POG) |
Outcome: All students will complete a POG Presentation of Learning (POL) by 2025-26. |
Strategy 1: The school will rebuild an understanding with students, staff, and the community about why POG attributes and skills positively impact students within and beyond school. |
Strategy 2: CLT's will begin to develop a shared understanding of what and how Portrait of a Graduate Presentations of Learning can be implemented for all students. |
